YMCA Camp High Harbour at Lake Burton: Staff presence is everything

Last week, I had the privilege of visiting the YMCA of Metropolitan Atlanta camps—and there’s so much to celebrate!

During my visit to YMCA Camp High Harbour at Lake Burton, I had the chance to spend time with Drew, Jessie, and Catherine.

What stood out the most? The incredible staff presence.
I was blown away by how engaged the staff were—always with their campers, never just watching from afar.

It was great to see this level of attentiveness and care. The energy, focus, and commitment to youth were crystal clear.

They also had a series of program pavilions inspired by Walt Disney World’s Frontierland!

Well done! Thank you having me!
